Now, some of you might have known that my sisters and I share a really close bond. And the second I heard they were planning a trip down to my place, I was beyond thrilled! So, last weekend I had a lovely, fruitful time with Rebecca (Ivy spent hers with the bf) doing a quick round of shopping which was a last minute deviation from our actual plan, surrendering ourselves from the idea of resisting the who-could-resist Zara sale. We had our lunch at a nearby Kenny's Roasters as an alternative after discovering that Las Carretas was closed. As sick as this may sound, we napped after that heavy lunch and when it was time for my sisters to leave, I bidded them with goodbyes and left feeling their presence still lingering.

ps: Thank you for the warm & supportive comments received in my previous post! I'm so blessed to have such lovely readers like all of you here ♥

SALAD, SESAME AND CILANTRO

ph. by mutemode
Menu: Grilled Chicken Salad with Thousand Island Dressing, Deep Fried Sesame Crusted Fish with Rice, Tomyam Soup, Tropical Fruit Tea and Mocha Glacier (edit).

I really liked lunching here at the Black Canyon Coffee. The food's great, so is the environment and the friendly waitors. The place is usually a full house on Sundays but we were one of the early birds so there was plenty of seats to choose from. I had positive feedbacks from my two sisters who nom-ed the rice dish and Tomyam soup. Feedbacks verified true when I stole some from theirs. The salad was fresh, the chicken slices were lightly and perfectly grilled, and as someone who has carnivorous appetite, I almost finished it with the help of extra salad dressing, only didn't manage the last 2 leaves. Oh, and 2 rings of onions.

Ivy's camera seems to take better pictures than mine. Funny how I'm blaming my camera instead of my still-novice experience in handling a DLSR. Pff.

WE'LL GET A SIAMESE AND WATCH TV

A sort of mini break from the usual outfit posts.
Lunched with him a couple of weeks ago, and we decided to go for Thai cuisine at the Sri Ayutthaya Thai Restaurant and ordered off-the-menu dishes. We have lots of inspired Siamese cuisine all around here but nothing came close to this. The consistency of the tomyam soup was especially thick and I spotted several chopped bird's eye chilies throwned in to maximize spicyness. It was hard to digest a bowl on my own so we shared. The pineapple fried rice was definitely unique but it tasted nothing like pineapples despite the name but raisins instead, at first bites as there were raisins in it. Only after several munches you'll find fried rice. As a whole it was good though I'm not much of a fan of raisins. The mango sago? Delish! I'm all for anything mangos and icey you see.

Hence, the biasness.

ON YOUR BIRTHDAY

Here's a special post for my sister, who has ALWAYS been there for me, through the thickest and thinnest of my life. I hope I was there enough for her too.
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY, BLESSED BIRTHDAY TO MY BELOVED SISTER, REBECCA OF STYLE-ANTAGONIST!
(Might be a belated shout out post, but never a belated celebration)

May the blessings of our Lord God Almighty be upon you always, overshowering you, not only on this special day but in all the days of your life. You have
been an amazing, amazing, sister (double because you are that amazing) to all of us, and I thank God for that. Bless you!

Upon taking these shots, I can confidently conclude that the people in my town are indeed, PESKY. When me and my sister, Ivy, found the ultimate quiet spot
to take a couple of outfit shots, all of a sudden, cars and passersby, crept out of nowhere and gave us that laughy, teasy kind of look. Some even honked at
us. Excuse us, but are we breaking the freaking law here? Save those attentions to people who really need them, like those involved in road accidents cos I
don't see you guys stopping and lend a helping hand. Mind your own business, for photography's sake!

On a much calmer note here, that's my favourite thirst quencher - Sour Plum Sprite from Food & Tea (Hong Kong). Other than that, my sister and I had an
awesome time with our friends, Jessica and Tuja. And I'm already anticipating for our future meet-ups!

MORE THAN A MANIC MONDAY

THE BIRTHDAYS
cake-pandan

The months before were filled with celebrations where 3 birthdays and a wedding, were cramped hectically into it. The birthday boys and girls are
my dad, my brother and my mom. The cake pictured is one of Mom's favourite - Pandan cream cake. And Dad's oriental taste for food are depicted
well in the next pic. We ate and ate and not forgetting burning them thru our routined jog/walks for the wedding a week after.

THE WEDDING

Mom and I. My family and I attended Rebecca's future sister in law's wedding dinner reception. Rebecca was like JLo in The Wedding Planner,
minus everything about the movie except the planning part. She even prepared a heart warming slides for the newly-weds which got some into
tears. I was wearing everything Mango whilst Mom had on a beautifully-sequined vintage dress in oceanic hues, which was a gift from Rebecca.
I was a lil sceptical about that dress at first until Mom tried it on. I guess Rebecca was right that it was indeed a beautiful dress. Mom was basically
beyond dazzling that night.

Another week after was Malacca. My fam and I finally kept our words on this family trip to Malacca, one the states in Malaysia, which also
happens to be the most historical state here, which also happens to be a place where my mom grew up. My sisters and I got our outfit figured out
a week before but as all of us were, well, taking our time off from blogging, we didn't plan on something blog-worthy. So basically, it was comfort
over style. The trip was fun, I had a great time - we all had. But on the food sector, it was kind of disappointing as our tastebuds were craving for
something more and all we had was close to tasteless. Maybe we need a tourguide on that.
I sighed at the sight of the last picture - Leaving Malacca without any of those simply adds on to my list of regrets. I blamed it on the crowd, who
kept pushing us to go forward so it was quite impossible to just stop and savour them rings.

A day after Malacca, I flew to the People's Republic of China for work, for a week. My colleague and I were litterally lost en route and in translation,
and had a little too much of Gung Fu tea. A week felt like forever there. We couldn't wait to pack our bags for home.
