DIY / SHEER MAXI SKIRT

Being profoundly inspired by Abbey Lee's sheer maxi skirt a couple of months ago, I jumped right to the idea of making one instead of cashing in for ready mades. Besides, it seemed pretty accomplishable and most importantly, I don't need to spend much. Thanking God for the pattern making and sewing skills learnt back in college, I DIY-ed two of these skirts, each with different level of flareness. The one I'm wearing here is of a lesser flare. What do you think?

Pairing it here with a fringed faux leather shoulder bag, strap tucked in, which I got almost 2 years ago and a favourite block striped slouchy jumper for a monotone look.

Love the diy, love the lesserflaredness of this one. looks great with the slouchy block stripe and the fringey bag. Like how you managed to get a backlit image- SO effective.

I figure making your own is the best for this trend- it's cheaper and so simple than forking out $89+ for a bought one. As long as you can french seam, you have it in the bag.

If only I possessed an ounce of good sewing skill.... turned out amazing! I could have sworn it was bought. the fringed clutch is such a stunnner.

Fantastic DIY, girl! Love it. You could make a lot of money off of those if you wanted to take the time to make them for people. :-)
