I still couldn't find a time to get those buttons to be changed to black. Getting it changed was never the problem but it was always scouting for the right buttons part which gives me the real headache (even buttons are sooo hard to find over here). And I was thinking, instead of the normal black, gold mushroom buttons suit just as well too. Anyway, I'll just use it as it is till one of the buttons fall off or something.
I also have a hard time adjusting this blazer to fit me as my head tend to look small with all things collared. I don't really know why but that was something I realised since I was in high school - I would always pull the collar away from my neck because 1. I hate the smothered feeling of neck-sticking collars, 2. To give the illusion of having a long lean neck thus making my head looked proportioned with my body, I guess. Silly me.

Take Sophie Home

Sophie Ellis Bextor. First heard of her when I was still in high school. I was attracted and still attracted to the features on her face - high cheek bones coupled with a nicely shaped jaws plus a pair of such mesmerizing eyes. If I can have that on my face..Nah. I'm thankful with what I have. I love 'Take Me Home' the most and I think it was her best song. Style wise, she brought back red lips and 50's dresses which wasn't really in trend during that time. Unfortunately.

I wished she'd try something more vibrantly colored and playful like short floral dresses. Just my opinion.

(GAP Maternity long-sleeved top, Vincci heart-shaped chain, black tights, vintage shoulder bag, Urbanog strappy heels)

Throughout the years, I've developed some kinda strong liking towards something loose and baggy at the top, say a knitted sweater, paired with a skinny bottom. They looked very casual and house-wifey at the same time, like those women carrying groceries in brown paper bags on their left hand and on the right, their car keys. Looking busy and walking towards their car, an SUV or station wagon to be precise. As for me, I like that kind of life - minus the word 'housewife' :)
Btw, my bangs have been really irritating you can't hardly see my eyes, right?

vintagebag_bcc
Yes, that bag. It is vintage and it is old. Seriously old. It was at the shop, probably since a decade ago that it has roaches inside (not mine) and dust all over. For those who followed my blog, you can see that I've worn it before but I never get to talk about it, like a lot. It costs only approx USD2-3. After giving it a lil wipe & shine with so much fear that creepy crawlies might crawl out of nowhere, it looks like brand new. It is new anyway. Old and new, at the same time. Alright, cut the crap.

First Aid Kit Gone Handy

bandage_tights_bcc

I was browsing thru the web while searching for things to babble about in my blog and a lil inspiration, perhaps and I came across these bandaged style leggings. It was love at first sight for me and I couldn't get my eyes of the creativity of doing a mummified tights. I wish they are available here.. then I wouldn't have to scout round the web coz those currency converting is really killing me. Anyway, it looks DIY-able to me. It seems there are 2 strips of stretchy fabric being criss-crossed till the ankle. And, to make the criss-crossing stay where they are when we're walking, maybe a lil stitch on the intersection of the criss-crossing might help. But the problem is, how to even start it?
I want to do something about my worn out tights, maybe a lil shredding. I have lots of plans but I don't seem to have any time to do anything. Even the buttons in the previous post have yet to be changed to black :(

Recently, I've obtained some mild obsession towards these cut-out wedgies. I love the mediocre height of the wedge and how they have those criss-cross straps at the front. They'll go great with almost anything. Unfortunately, this obsession will remain an obsession because I know I can never get my hands on these shoes.

Black Ballet

bcc_shoes
bcc_shoes1
Bought this pair of ballerinas which was on sale recently from MANGO. Can it be considered as a mary jane, since it has those ankle straps? It's made of leather and ooh, I can't wait to tell you the best part. It costs only ≈ USD8 :) I like things which are cheap as I ALWAYS believed in affordable style. Gosh, I would call this a best buy! Well, sometimes I would splurge of course but not all the time. Speaking of shoes, those oxfords I purchased have been taking a really long time to arrive. Okay, I'm trying not to freak out here..

Tomorrow's a Sunday. What am I gonna do?
Rest I guess.. Have an awesome weekend!

bcc_style5
bcc_style3
(MNG MANGO black flared top, PADINI black skinny belt, Vincci black faux gem ring, Diva diamenté studded ring, MNG MANGO black buckled heels)

Actually it's not really a big deal how I got all these paired up. It's a very common combo. I'm just maybe a lil .. alright, very thrilled to have found a way to turn this old boring skirt which I always wear to work, into something fun and different. Usually I'll pair it with kind of like a black knitted long sleeved top from Nicole MNJ which is yawn, boring. FYI, I don't like to put on something fancy to work. It makes me focus more on 'how do I look today?' than my job. Unless I have a job like Carine Roitfeld's.

Note: I'm desperately seeking some extra time to do some wardrobe remixes. I wish there were 48 hours in a day with the same 8 hours of zzz.

Drip Drop

The last Sunday was a pretty gloomy one coz it was raining. Sunday is the only day where I can be at home during the day coz I'm working full tilt from Mondays to Fridays, nine till seven. So usually Sunday is the only day I can rest, well sort of. Anyway, and so I decided to take some shots of the rain pouring down my room window, trying to be artistic I guess. It only rained for a few minutes or so and then it got sun-shiny again. Took advantage of the bipolared weather to snap pictures of a vintage blazer I bought the day before while shopping with mutemode from a thrifted store. It has these stripes which I really, heart. Costs ≈ USD13. Not really a best buy for me coz there's some tear at the lining but I can say it's affordable considering that it's a blazer. With shoulder pads.

I'm thinking of changing the buttons to black though. What do you think?

Attention Seeking Militant

(Balmain military inspired, crystal embellished jacket S/S 09)

This would be my second post on Balmain and I might be a lil back-dated for writing something that has been going on for awhile now. I just gotta do a review on this very unique piece before time sweeps it away and into the dumpster. This has got to be the most beautifully remixed jacket, first made popular by the iconic Michael Jackson. If I'm not mistaken, My Chemical Romance tried to revive this almost forgotten military style jacket, in their own version, calling it the BLACK PARADE UNIFORM, which I feel, looking rather skeletor and rib bone-ish instead of being military.
Balmain's version is weightier (I suppose, judging from the heavily embellished diamentés) and bolder (from the trade-marked extended shoulders). Bold enough to last for a lifetime. That's how bold it is. Anyway, I never knew that a military looking jacket can go unbuttoned till I saw Balmain's. I would recommend this to those who wants to make a fashion statement. And to those who are interested in signing up for marching bands. Okay, it was a joke.

Well, I guess Balmain R-O-C-K-E-D it again.

A Thursday Post

(the sartorialist)

I have to say that, I really envy these people. How can they look so effortless and yet can pull off, say a men's shirt, probably of their spouses and yet looking so... like this?? I've been searching for a really cool shirt but couldn't seem to find any around my place where I'm living now. My last resort: Dad, can I borrow your shirt please? Well, even my dad doesn't have any :(

Basically, this was what I wore to church yesterday. The title of the sermon yesterday was 'Faith'. I'm recharged :) The jeans I'm wearing was actually 2.5inch longer but I cropped it to fit me. It fits my modelicious sister perfectly though (of course). I love how it hangs around my pelvic perfectly and the part I loved most was that it only costs ≈ USD5. Can you find a wide leg jeans cheaper than this??

Peaceful Pieces

(Top : Original Painter, unknown. Below : Me, water painting)
Water painting is not and has never been my cup of tea, as you can see. In fact, a cup of tea is not even my cup of tea too. I had difficulties controlling brush strokes and the amount of water used. Anyway, pardon me for my horrible attempt as I had no other options.
blkcffcrmbs_project1
(Left : Original picture, unknown. Right : Me, pencil rendering)

Some artwork I did a few years back when I was still at my college days for Design Studies. I love to do pencil rendering and I used to do it using mechanical pencil as I was too lazy to sharpen the normal pencils everytime it gets blunt. Besides, I love precision and only mechanical pencils can satisfy my needs for precision in lines. In this case, I think I combined both.
Sad to say, I threw away the notebook which I wrote the name of the painters and their respective titles. Sigh- Plus, I only have the pictures of my work. The original pieces are being kept by the college for referencing reason.
P/S: Mine's not the only one being kept in the archive - for a second I thought I was special.
